Committee Participation Information

Indiana public school educators, charter school educators, and educator preparation faculty are invited to apply to participate in test development conferences/meetings. The Indiana Department of Education will review applications and approve educators and faculty to participate.

Opportunities for participation include:

Content Advisory Committee member. The Indiana CORE Assessments for Educator Licensure include the Core Academic Skills Assessment, CORE Developmental (Pedagogy) Area Assessments, and CORE Content Area Assessments. A Content Advisory Committee of educators who are subject matter experts will be established for each assessment. Each Content Advisory Committee will review draft test materials which include test frameworks and test items. Content Advisory Committee members may also assist the Indiana Department of Education in other development activities, including setting passing standards for the assessments.

Fairness Review Committee member. Educators will review assessment materials for potential sources of bias according to established review criteria pertaining to test content, language, offensiveness, stereotypes, and inclusiveness. Members will make recommendations that will help prevent potential bias that would disadvantage a person because of her or his gender, race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, handicapping condition, or cultural, economic, or geographic background.
